Every two years the European Convention on Turkic, Ottoman and Turkish Studies “Turkologentag” takes place at a different university. It is hosted by GTOT in conjunction with the Turkology / Ottoman Studies Department of the host university. The next convention will be held in 2027 in Paris.

*The Turkologentag 2020 planned in collaboration with the Department of Slavic, Turkic and Circum-Baltic Studies at the Johannes Gutenberg-University in Mainz had to be cancelled due to the Covid19 pandemic.
The Turkologentags were preceded by the German Turkologists Conference, which met six times between 1987 and 2005.
